British Cycling's Premier Calendar Race: The Ryedale Grand Prix took to the roads of North Yorkshire on Sunday 9th July carrying Grasscrete sponsorship. With Helmsley's Duncombe Park, Stately Home for a venue and the magnificient countryside of the Howardian Hills as a backdrop the race offered one of the best photo opportunities on the racing calendar. Adding to the day was a whole range of cycling activities in the Park including a 50km charity ride in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The Ryedale Grand Prix was the finale of the fortnight long Yorkshire Festival of Cycling, promoted by British Cycling's Yorkshire Region. Running through the Festival was a Grasscrete Rider of the Series Award that was presented to winner Ian Wilkinson of the Science in Sport Racing Team.
