The conversion of a medieval building into a new doctor’s surgery called for the construction of a new parking area. Significant hurdles had to be overcome in the form of an old stone boundary wall. In poor condition and founded above the formation level of the new car park, the wall could not be removed without disturbing adjacent structures and historians. The solution was to build a buttress wall some 4 metres high in BETOATLAS buff coloured units with the gap between filled with BETONAP geogrid reinforced backfill.
