A major road building project in a rural environment called for a sensitive approach to engineering details, with the need for low visual impact being a major consideration. To maintain a natural soft landscape, GRASSBLOCK GB103 interconnecting units were used throughout the scheme. Culverts were lined with a combination of open and solid matrix units in Method 1 bond. Elsewhere, the bridge abutments were lined with open matrix units in Method 2 to provide optimum grass cover.
