Access to overhead power cables where they pass over highways, used to mean the construction of extensive tubular scaffolding to support the cables as they were lowered. Now instead, there is increasing use of cantilevered “sky cradle” platforms that reach fully across the lanes.
To support the sky cradles, a load bearing base is required that should not be identifiable to passing motorists as a potential parking area. In conjunction with the power supply companies, GRASSCRETE GC2sc was designed to accommodate the high point loads, with minimal visual impact. Since this initial project, many more have followed. |
